about
I'm a systems engineer based in Bozeman, Montana. 15+ years in web infrastructure, distributed systems, and platform architecture.
Recently finished my BS, now completing my MS in Industrial & Systems Engineering at Montana State, where I'm a graduate research engineer at the BioReD Hub.
coincident & stelna
I'm a partner at Stelna Ventures, a Bozeman-based venture studio backing first-time founders across Montana and the Mountain West. Coincident Systems is Stelna's technical arm, a consulting studio I co-founded with some grad school colleagues.
background
10 years in cannabis tech. POS systems, compliance integrations, mobile apps for Colorado's largest independent retailer, then platform architecture for a publicly traded MSO.
But now I'm moving on and diving into healthcare systems, human factors, and the engineering side of organizations.
other stuff
I run, ride bikes (slowly), and play golf (badly). I like wine and pretend to know things about it. You can find my wife, dog, and me XC skiing in the winters and running trails in the summer.
lately
Thesis research in calibrated agent-based simulation for rural healthcare systems, combining Monte Carlo methods, Bayesian parameter estimation, and machine learning to model human decision-making in resource-constrained environments.
Published research on speech segmentation for neuroscience workflows, contributing to trauma coordination proposals for rural Montana, and interviewing for engineering management roles.
Collaborating with Dr. McCrory's BioReD lab on modernizing industrial engineering coursework, including a browser-based SQL time study platform for EIND 313 that uses learning curve regression to assess student performance. Also rebuilding DesignTools, a legacy VB5 industrial engineering teaching application (61 modules covering time study, ergonomics, work sampling, learning curves), as a modern web platform for the IE department.
